"Although being only 6 games into the season, this game felt like somewhat of a title decider as we travelled to an unbeaten and title holders Farsley for what we knew would be a tough test. Missing last weekends MOM Jordan Ledgard we had a reshuffle of the 14 man squad, which saw Rob Mallender move from left back to Central Midfield and Littletown welcomed back familiar face who was to start on the bench. We controlled the game from the off and on the counter attack hit the bar through Tom Ramsden then Scott Lighthowler, also having a number of further close attempts before the half time whistle came at 0-0.
Farsley started the second half brighter and around 60 minutes in their striker scored from a neat turn and finish. This was their 2nd attempt on target in what proved to be a far more controlled game than we expected. Littletown then got a foothold once again hitting the cross-bar. Substitute Matty Bugg then scored, a goal in which was ruled out for offside to the amazement of all spectators, and also the 22 men on the field who were setting up to resume play from the kick off. A lot of late pressure couldn’t see us equalise and we slipped to a 1-0 defeat.
MOM: Jordan Burland for his organisation skills and one on one defending. Disappointing but a lesson learned, if that’s the best this league has to offer we return back to Beck Lane with a lot of confidence for the rest of the season."
